The Blind Man's Stall

 /// Here are some spreads from the latest and final booklet produced for my MA project Of Truth and Lies. "The Blind Man's Stall" is about an eccentric old man who was a well-known character at the Old Market in Brighton. It is based on a true fact, but large parts of the story are fictional, which illustrates the idea of history being subjective and that it is up to us to make it alive and colourful. Many spreads leave gaps and spaces for the reader to write and draw their own version of the story. ///

The drawing series

 /// A small series of one-off booklets on observational drawings that I have completed over the course of the last 2 years. The magazines are staple-bound photocopied images on white and transparent paper stock. A small edition will be available to buy at the shop at our exhibition at the Gallery at Grand Parade, Brighton. ///

Something's cooking

/// In preparation for our MA exhibition in September 2013 (more details to follow soon, keep your eyes on ) I am currently working on an A2 poster that folds up into a booklet telling the story of an almost true incident. I have been learning about registration marks and mesh thicknesses, mono-printing with a screen, and that all blue-eyed people originally stem from the same mother! ///

The Drawing Group

Check out our MA Drawing Group Blog with regular updates on workshops that we're testing and hoping to keep running until the end of August 2013 at our University. Workshops and seminars include Low-Tech Printmaking, Tile workshops, and a Mark-Making workshop to come in the next weeks.

Brighton Hipsters

/// C 0 M I N G   S O O N: ///

A small guide to Brighton's very own hipster scene with illustrations and descriptions of characteristics and habitats. This should be a fun project to do over easter to give my MA mind a break and get me out drawing (funny) people again.

One Drawing a Day

///Drawings from an A6 sketchbook that I try to take wherever I go. The purpose is to do a drawing a day, without planning or thinking too much about it, and just recording what catches my eye.///

Happy New (Rainy) Year!

/// After a revitalising and eventful break in Germany over Christmas, I'm back in Brighton and ready to get back into my MA project work. If only the weather wasn't so bleak! That would help. ///
